  1. How much larger should I order a frame to fit the poster I bought?
Simply send us the exact measurements of your poster or of the outside dimensions of the matting for your poster, and we will cut your frame the size it has to be in order to accommodate your poster. Approximately 1/4 inch of the edge your artwork will be covered by the frame profile.
*Please do not add additional length or width to compensate for added space, otherwise the poster can "fall" within the frame.

  8. What is foamcore?
Foamcore or Foamboard is a very strong, lightweight and easily cut material useful for backing, mounting photographic prints, framing, 3D design and painting. It consists of three layers - an inner layer of polystyrene clad, with outer facing of paper.

Our Choices available are: Foamcore, Acid Free Foamcore, and Corrugated Plastic.

Our Standard White Foamcore is non-acidic. Suggested use is for artwork expected to be framed for up to 50 years and valued less than $100.00. Available in sizes up to 42x62.

Acid Free Foamcore is buffered with an Alkaline chemical which helps to combat the acids found in most posters or prints. Suggested use is for artwork expected to be framed for upwards of 100 years and valued over $100.00. Available in sizes up to 32x42.

Corrugated Plastic is a fluted plastic material used when moisture, constant humidity, or temperature changes are a concern. Available in sizes up to 42x62.

*Please note: Both a Lens Cover and Backing are required to properly use our type of frame

  9. What is a lens cover?
Lens covers (Acrylic) take the place of, and give the same look as glass when framing.

Compared to standard glass, Framing Grade Acrylic is 10 to 20 times more resistant to impact, half the weight, easier to handle, economical to ship, and a much safer alternative.
As an added bonus, our Framing Grade has exceptional optical quality, and protects as much as 89% of harmful UV light.

Our Clear Acrylic Lens Covers offer a look similar to Clear Glass, but are made of a special Framing Grade plastic that is exceptional in optical quality.

Our Non-Glare Acrylic Lens Covers help to dramatically reduce the amount of reflection, sunlight, or overhead lighting that can be seen when looking at your frame. Additional advantages are that Non-Glare is also less likely to show any dust or scratches.

A typical disadvantage to Non-Glare, is that the depth of color and image quality is reduced by an estimated 5%. Consideration to where the frame will be placed should be given, when weighing out the benefits or drawbacks of upgrading to a Non-Glare Lens Cover when ordering. Our Non-Glare Acrylic Lens Cover should NOT be used within Shadow Box style frames or when there is a significant distance in between the Cover and Print, as there may be an additional loss of image quality. Available in sizes up to 42" x 62".

Additional Lens covers or Glazing such as both Clear and Non-Glare Styrene, PETG and a UV PET, are available to bulk commercial customers. (email inquiries only)

*Please note: Both a Lens Cover and Backing are required to properly use our type of frame.
